I offer a free short phone consultation at a time convenient to you, where we can discuss your needs and what you would like from therapy. Just get in touch with me by email, text or phone and let me know when would be convenient to talk. If talking by phone feels too difficult, we can arrange things by email.
Session fees are £50 per 50 minutes, for all sites and sessions. There is no extra charge for home visits. Fees can be paid in cash or by card, and if we agree to ongoing work bank transfer can be arranged.
I currently have availability on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and offer both early morning and evening sessions in addition to regular working hours. We can work together at the Brighton or Hove therapy rooms, or if you live in the Brighton and Hove or nearby area, we can arrange for me to come to you for counselling in your own home.
You don’t need to know how long you’d like us to work together when you get in touch. In our first session we’ll work together to get a sense of what has brought you to therapy, whether you have specific goals, and what you may be expecting or hoping for. Often first sessions are quite cathartic, as many things you have been holding in can finally be shared in a non-judgemental, confidential space. Sometimes it can take time for us to build a space where you feel safe and secure, and I promise I will listen to you and do whatever I can to support you.
After our first session I’ll ask you to take a few days to decide if you would like to continue working together. Then I will get in contact via email, and we can set up our ongoing work together. In therapy it is typical for us to meet once a week, at the same time and place every week. This helps provide certainty and means that we can focus on our work together. We can work to arrange therapy around shift patterns, holidays and fluctuations such as caring responsibilities.
How long we work together is in your hands. Some people find that they want a certain number of sessions to tackle a specific goal, or to work together over a particularly difficult period or anniversary. Other people chose to give themselves a longer period of therapy to explore their self, past and experiences in depth. I invite you to tell me what works for you.
