We are happy to announce to the finalised programme for the Historical Metallurgy Society‘s Research in Progress meeting, 2010!
The Annual Research in Progress meeting is designed to allow people working on subjects related to historical, archaeological and industrial metallugy to come and discuss their research in an open and interested atmosphere.
Miljana and I have been working on getting a wide range of contributions, and I’m really happy with the people who have agreed to speak. You can download the program here: HMS Research in Progress 2010 PROGRAM
I’m particularly excited as I’m going to speak about the Crosby Garrett Roman helmet; I got thirty minutes with it and the old portable XRF machine just before it went on show at Christies.
Anyone who’d like to come along is welcome; the meeting is scheduled for the 10th of November and will be held at the Institute of Archaeology, UCL. Cost is £20 for non-HMS members, £18 for members.
